Converting Your Podcast into a YouTube Video

Most podcasters are turning their shows into video, then sharing them on places like YouTube to reach a wider audience. Explore why you should upload your podcast to YouTube, re-purposing your content for those that would miss out.

Benefits of converting your content

Popular platform to grow your listeners

In 2019 Youtube reported close to 2 billion monthly users and is the second most popular social media platform. Youtube is popular because of its ease of use and it can translate your video into 80 different languages. What’s also amazing is that is popular across multiple generations. Oberlo reports that 90% of US internet users are between the age range of 18-44 years of age, and even more interesting 51% of people over the age of 75 are watching videos as well. Youtube has the means to help you grow your audience by utilizing a wide reach of people.

Secure your content

YouTube has options that allow you to brand your material. This can stop people from claiming your audio or even show as their own. People have been known for taking your content and uploading it as their own. If you create videos of your podcast you can create a playlist that will allow your videos to run back to back. All of your content will be listed on your channel and you can watermark it with your logo.

Most platforms convert

Platforms like Libsyn and Podbean have a feature in which your audio is transcribed into video format. You can also create your video using simple apps that come with your computer. I use the photo app on my laptop to create a video using different pictures taken during recording. I also record the actual recording using Zoom and I edit it using photos to add ads/ sponsors information. It’s been pretty amazing because I add relatability to my audience. They can see that I look and act like them which will make them listen to more of my episodes.

YouTube should become another platform to promote your podcast. You never know who you will reach by just adding cover art and a few pictures to your audio to draw in more listeners.
